Show Up Maryland is a free civic information tool. It helps Maryland residents find their elected officials, explore legislation, look up candidates, and prepare for elections. It is built and maintained by volunteers.

By using this site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

We pull data from official public sources and do our best to keep it accurate and up to date. But we cannot guarantee that every piece of information on this site is correct at all times. Data may be delayed, incomplete, or contain errors.

You should always verify critical information with official sources before acting on it. This includes registration deadlines, polling locations, ballot details, and candidate information. Official sources include:

• Maryland State Board of Elections (elections.maryland.gov)
• Maryland General Assembly (mgaleg.maryland.gov)
• Your local board of elections

Our AI assistant, Civvy, can answer questions about Maryland legislation and candidates. However:

• Civvy can make mistakes. AI responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date.
• Civvy is not a lawyer, election official, or political advisor.
• Do not rely on Civvy for legal advice, official election procedures, or time-sensitive deadlines.
• Always verify any information Civvy provides against official government sources.

This site is provided "as is" without any warranties. We are not liable for any damages or losses that may result from using this site or relying on information found here. This includes but is not limited to:

• Missing a registration deadline because our data was out of date
• Going to the wrong polling location
• Making decisions based on incorrect candidate or bill information
• Any action taken based on AI chat responses

You may use this site for personal civic research and voter preparation. You may not:

• Scrape or bulk-download data from our API without permission
• Use automated tools to overload our servers
• Misrepresent this site as an official government service
• Use data from this site to harass, stalk, or intimidate candidates or officials

Legislative data, vote records, and candidate filings are public record and not copyrighted. The site design, code, and original content are the property of Show Up Maryland.

Candidate photos are sourced from government websites, Ballotpedia, and candidate campaign sites. These images remain the property of their respective owners and are displayed here for civic informational purposes.

We do not guarantee that this site will be available 24/7. We may take it down for maintenance, updates, or other reasons at any time without notice.

We may update these terms at any time. The date at the top of this page will reflect the latest revision. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.
